seeking applicants for the following position(s).
Multi-Cultural Counselor
- Verona Area High School
- Verona Area School District
- 1.0 FTE
- Masters degree in
Counseling, School Social Work, Counseling Psychologist or
School Psychologist or a related field required
- DPI certification in
respective area of expertise required
- Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong)
language skills required
- Two (2) or more years of
active participation in one or more ethnic minority
communities
- Ability to collaborate with
building staff in identifying and addressing at-risk
behavior and issues that may affect a student's success at
school
- Prior experience with
multi-cultural students in school settings and systems
preferred
- Responsibilities will
include, but are not limited to; providing academic
guidance, and support to improve academic performance of
multi-cultural students, collaborating with staff to improve
academic achievement, serving as Counselor for all English
Language Learner (ELL) students, serving as liaison between
school and families, creating and conduct staff trainings
and in-services, and maintaining and create partnerships
with various community professionals and agencies
